Formaldehyde Removal: Cookout Method
Newly renovated apartments and offices typically have high levels of formaldehyde.
One of the most effective ways of removing formaldehyde is to run a formaldehyde cookout.
🍳 What is a Formaldehyde Cookout?
The name ‘cookout’ comes from the idea that you ‘cook’ the formaldehyde ‘out’ of your building.
♨️ By heating up your building, materials that contain formaldehyde will off-gas more quickly, allowing formaldehyde levels to reduce more rapidly.

HEPA filter life span?
How does it affect people with allergies? better say why ? Or would it be considered asthma ...?
Recently, I visited Your UA-cam channel and I found some problems. I think and believe that if you can fix that problem, your channel will grow very gradually.
Hello with your QP pro , which gas do you measure for tVOC , what is maximum recommended limit in mg/m3 ? Thanks
Great question! QP pro doesn't measure a single gas for tVOC. It detects the presence of a broad range of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and provides a total VOC reading (tVOC). Low tVOC (under 0.3 mg/m3) is great, acceptable (0.3-0.5 mg/m3) is alright, but high levels (above 0.5 mg/m3) mean it's time to find and remove whatever's causing them. Aim for 0 mg/m3 for the healthiest air.
Thanks for your pertinent reply. If QP pro provide measure different type of gases , it is difficult to aggregate in only one value , it is even difficult to provide quality control limits because each gas has different characteristics control limits!
I just got a new really large fluffy chaise lounge right out of the plastic and its in a very small room. We cant even go into the room now and it is burning our throats, nose and eyes significantly. I work from home so I cant leave. can I just shut the door, heat it up with a portable heater, then open the windows to vent...or do we have to leave the house for a specific amount of time to do a cookout even though its not the entire house?
Hey, it's best if you check what materials the chaise lounge is made of, but also contact its seller. The gases that are released during a cookout are dangerous and should be avoided for your own safety. Here are our various articles on cookout: smartairfilters.com/en/?s=cookout&searchblogs=1%2C9
How long can I be in a room completely sealed without getting adverse health effects from a buildup of carbon dioxide?
QP pro can connected in HomeKit ?
As far as we know, no, here is the list of platforms it connects to: Smart home platforms: Xiaomi Mijia, JingDong Smart Cloud, Haier Smart Home
can we use it without the carbon filter? does that reduce its sealing?
You don't have to use a carbon filter ☺
@@SmartAirFilters Thanks so much for the reply. I'm worried does that reduce the sealing as without the carbon filter there is more space behind the pre-filter. The HEPA will be looser? Have you tested if that doesn't increase the amount of air which bypasses the filter through the gaps.
Give recommendations
Thanks for asking. When choosing an air purifier, don't be guided by marketing hype, focus on data. Look for independent tests to check the effectiveness of your air purifier. Price does not always equal clean air. Check out this guide: smartairfilters.com/en/blog/four-steps-to-choosing-the-best-air-purifier/&setlang=no
Thank you for the video but unfortunately it is a little generic. I was looking to find out the readings mean and how to interpret them. My car gives an inside reading of 5 and an outside reading of 10. I drove through smoke from a fire beside the road and outside jumped to 130. Still trying to find out what these readings mean.
Hey, let us know what exactly your air quality monitor is reading (e.g. is it PM2.5 or something else). We'll explain everything in the comments. And of course thank you for your comment, we will try to prepare a video on this topic 😊
@@SmartAirFilters Thank you for the reply. It’s reading PM2.5. It’s a BYD seal driven in Europe. When I got the car in February, it was the first time I encountered the topic of PM2.5.
@@MosesKaldor here is a link where the health consequences of a particular PM2.5 level are explained: www.researchgate.net/figure/PM25-levels-source-wwwepagov_fig5_353328349. PM2.5 of 10 is considered fairly clean air. 130 is dangerous to health. However, it is worth knowing that even 'Short-term exposure to high levels of air pollution kills 1 million people worldwide each year.' Short-term exposure means even a few hours or even a few days. At level 130, it is a good idea to wear a mask and use an air purifier with a HEPA filter 🍃 We have many articles on air quality on our website: smartairfilters.com/en/articles/ 🧑🎓 Nice to hear you've taken an interest in the air quality you breathe 😊
And of course, let us know if we have written everything clearly and if you have any additional questions or doubts 😊
can I switch off the bt and wifi for qp lite? I do not need to have additional radiation in my room...
Sure! It's your monitor and you should use according to your beliefs. Just remember that if you want to use it again and get the correct result, you have to wait a certain amount of time for the air quality measurements to be reliable. 🙂😊
Thank you. I just bought an air filter that has a PM2.5 sensor. The number it is showing is 12 and it is green. My understanding is that this number should be below 50, but I am not sure what the numbers mean.
Hi! I guess you don't have our brand air purifier? Let me know what brand and model you have 💨 In an ideal scenario, PM2.5 should be 0 - scientists confirm that even minimal amounts of PM2.5 are harmful.
Can these be bad for babies health?
Yes, Study Finds Air Ionizer Increase Air Pollution: smartairfilters.com/en/blog/ionizers-can-increase-pollution-particles-formaldehyde/ (please read this article). Air pollution, even at low levels, is harmful. In this article, we also explained why companies use such a solution.
🇮🇳 🤮
Thanks !!
You misspelled sore throat.
It would be appropriate to look into the amount of geoengineering happening in these cities. It is quite obvious the skies in almost every country are being sprayed by the most likely military program to supposedly combat global warming. The lines crossed tik tak toe in our skies is not normal nor are the strange rainbow effects when the sunlight reflects off the heavy metals that are in the chemical trails left to open up and haze/ white out our skies. Criminal!! No talk of air pollution is complete without address weather manipulation aka geoengineering.
This is great for camping. Clears a tent out instantly. The static cling on the nylon fabrics of tents is a dust magnet and made camping in the desert irritating for my nose.

I've been very worrying about the aqi of India in Normal days they are very high like aqi level of 200 🥺 how to get rid of this
We recommend using an air purifier at home and monitoring pollution levels with an air quality monitor. Outside, a good quality mask and, if possible, a portable air purifier. We have a whole series of articles on how to protect yourself from air pollution - smartairfilters.com/en/articles/
@@SmartAirFilters Thank you for your kind reply !
What is the safest highest level of pm 2.5 ?
The World Health Organization (WHO) has given some advice on safe levels of PM2.5 in the air. Here's the breakdown: - Over a whole year, it's best to have less than 5 micrograms of PM2.5 in one cubic meter of air. - On any given day, the average should be below 15 micrograms per cubic meter. - In just one hour, it's better to stay below 50 micrograms per cubic meter. Even though these levels might sound low, it's important to know that even a bit of PM2.5 can be bad for your health. So, it's a good idea to pay attention to the air quality and take steps to keep it clean for a healthier life.
@@SmartAirFilters Thank you so much 👍🏼
NO mask filters out a virus.
Its junk, breaks down within 8 months, due to the cheap bearings in the internal fan, also wifi and display problems

@@SmartAirFilters the Canada site are sold out of the AQ monitors Also how often does the sensors pick up air samples and update on the phone ? Can I sent alerts … such as when PM 2.5 hit 3. Sent a notification ?

Jakarta is the most polluted right now😂😂
Yes, in some rankings Jakarta 'wins'
accidently left mybedroom window open and aq ia 91 with pm2.5at 17.4... how long will it takefor the air toclear
I think the issue is, how do we re-clean the air in the house to low levels of pollution? It depends on some factors, what kind of air purifier you have, how big the rooms are, ventilation systems, and windows ;). There are articles on our website that help with calculations 😃
Watching this video to help with my decision making of which air filter replacement should i buy for my car 😂
Amazing to hear that. Which one did you choose?
@@SmartAirFilters I got the pm2.5 with charcoal air filter, no regret, now I don't get headache and itchy eyes every time I turn on my car AC. 👍
So Anna was breathing in smoky air for over 2 minutes while the air purifier was on? What kind of smoke is that?
Anna was surrounded by a mixture of water and oil
OK, thanks!@@SmartAirFilters
Please read my edit!! why don't doctors and hospitals have the foggiest idea what PM 2.5 is?!?!?! 🫣 (Edit) ... you misunderstood my question?! 💁 My question was ... Why are they ignorant to what PM2.5 is?? ... When I asked my Dr ... her words were ... "What's PM2.5???" 😮 "I called the local hospital and the blood lab Manager ... said the same thing ... "What's PM2.5??" 😮 I was trying to find out if PM2.5 is detectable in Blood Work???? ... I can't find anything on the internet either!!!!
We hope that one day every hospital will be equipped with an air purifier that will take care of not only patients but also doctors and the entire team of people working there 👏
Hi Smartair, when I replaced my Squair filter, I noticed fibers from the hepa filter sticking up all over. Is this normal and safe? its not fiberglass?
How noisy is it?
Hi Smartair I just want to ask if the E11 filters are made from fiberglass? I know it has been stated that all smartair filters are made from PPE+PET but why does my filter look like it has shimmering strands? I bought this from an authorized distributor. Hope you can help. I can send a picture too.
Please email us at: info@smartairfilters.com
@SmartAirFilters Thanks, I did and waiting for your reply. I sent a picture too
We did the whole burn out method about 5× and 8 hours in each room. Honestly it did help a lot. We also used the chemical spray that designed to help with the situation. We also repeated the method close the doors burn out and then open the doors air out and just kept repeating the pattern one week later everything's OK
It's great to hear that you had success 😎

A new sensor Qingping CO2 CGP22C has appeared and at an affordable price, they write there a Swiss Sensirion CO2 sensor using NDIR technology. What do you think is a good sensor? Haven't tested it yet?
Smart Air has a close working partnership with Qingping to improve the products and help air breathers around the world. The CO2 monitor device was co-designed by Smart Air and Qingping, with Smart Air using its 10 years of experience in the air quality space to improve the design and features of the air quality monitor. 🤝 The two models are the same internally, with the only change being the logo on the front of the device. One additional feature is that the Smart Air CO2 monitor has been tested and is fully compatible with the Smart Air Air Quality dashboard. Smart Air does not provide support and advice for the Qingping branded CO2 monitor.
Does the fan run on DC through an inverter from the AC? Or does the fan run on AC directly?
The Blast Mk II Air Purifier runs on AC directly. We do not recommend using an inverter to convert AC power to DC power, as this may damage the unit ;)
@@SmartAirFilters no what I mean is… -Is the motor itself a DC or AC motor? I prefer DC motor for lower energy cost. All my fans and purifiers use DC motors. The AC use more current and while it’s not a deal breaker I’m just curious. It almost looks like it might be a DC motor based on what looks like an infinite speed adjust on the back of the unit.
Remember air purifiers have a duel action not just filtering air, they also have carbon which absorbs chemicals. Don’t just look at air purifiers 1 dimensionally
That's right!
you forgot to mention domestic wood burning as a huge contributer of pm2.5. It's not just coal. The middle class woodburning stove lovers need to be brought to account for their indulgences.
Yes, residential wood burning can be a significant contributor to PM2.5 levels!
Cars, cars, cars, cars, wood cutting, factory, we burn wood since beggining of humans
In the UK Woodburning is a bigger source of PM2.5 than all the cars in the UK. yes we've been burning wood since the beginning of humans and it's also been damaging and killing us since we started using it as can be seen from the amount of woodsmoke illnesses and deaths in the global south where they still use wood to cook and heat their homes. @@tom6069

I got the QP lite a few weeks ago and since then I've been measuring the air quality of Tehran. The inside PM 2.5 usually fluctuates between 0 and 5, with all windows closed, while the outdoor PM 2.5 in the neighborhood where I live is around 20. The inside CO2 levels are a bit higher than standards, showing around 1100 ppm on average.
